My story really starts from the moment I had to choose my GCSE’s. Having been a creative person, but also good at maths, when it came to choosing my options I was at a crossroads. My choices were Photography Graphics and Geography. However my Dad advised me to drop one of Photography or Graphics for Economics.

Regrettably (at the time) I listened to him and swapped Graphics out for Economics. Fast forward to the first day of Year 10 I am dreading the first lesson. As I walk in I knock my teachers coffee over and spilt it everywhere. After a few weeks we come into the topic of Interest Rates and Quantitative Easing. Each question my hand was up and my teacher was fed up and refused to let me answer the questions. Quickly I realised that my grasp on this topic was better than most.

This brings me to 6th form, and deciding on university courses and which universities were best for me. In one ear I had my Photography teacher demanding I go down that route and in the other I had my Economics teacher telling me if I choose anything else, I’m wasting my talent.

Now at Uni studying Financial Economics, I hated lectures and always found myself researching into trading. Eventually from Year 2 onwards, my degree topics tied into trading, it all started to click. I dabbled in a few things, Forex, Binary Options, Crypto and standard share investing.

Once I graduated I secured a job at a retail stockbroking firm, and I quickly progressed up to Invesment Dealing Assistant Manager. At this point my love for everything Economics and Stock Markets was cemented. Thank you Dad!

However, it wasn’t until a family member stayed over with me that I realised how I could join in along with the big institutions and banks. Working from home for 9 hours to make £150 was reasonable until the family member made 4K sitting next to me for half the day.

This led me to becoming a part of The Bullish Bear in its infancy, learning, practicing and researching along with the team.
