DKA TRADES (Dillon Kai)

I am one of the founding members of The Bullish Bear and what a journey it has been. I grew up in London Edmonton from a working-class background. There was 5 of us living in a 2-bedroom place. My parents were workaholics (probably where I get it from). They made sure we didn’t go without.

Education was never my thing I was predicted 12 As for my GCSE’s but came out with 12 C’s. My parents were disappointed. I just couldn’t revise. During school however, I used to buy sweets on the way to school and sell them to the students. Maybe this is where my entrepreneur nature came from.

After studying I.T at college I just wanted to work and not go university. My parents, however, weren’t having a bar of this. So, they convinced me to do something I wanted. I did video games design, completed the degree, and worked for EA and Eidos in the production team. Having been sick of the industry I left and looked for a purpose in life. This ended up me opening my own business. A dessert/shisha lounge. It was amazing I loved it. However, my first son was born, and the long hours of business meant not much time to be a dad. I sold the business and found a job as an I.T teacher at a academy for teenagers from vulnerable backgrounds. I could now spend time with my son, work normal hours and be rewarded for changing lives.

I did this for ten years. Then the lightbulb moment happened. My uncle who was a retired options/futures trader was over for holidays and stayed at my house. During the stay he borrowed my laptop. I could see he was looking at financial charts. After 3 hours he handed me back the laptop and said thanks. I asked him what he was doing, and he said I just made 16k trading SPY.

I was blown away. He then spent the rest of his stay trying to teach me how to trade options. He left and I loaded a trading account with $500 and thought I knew what I was doing. How wrong was I. I blew it in 48 hours. So, I went down the You-Tube rabbit hole and bought some random course I could find. I loaded the account again with $500 I turned this into $18k. Guess what I blew that too. I was on my last $500 that I was willing to lose. I loaded my account and that’s the same capital I trade with now. 2023 I made over 800k. I’m not showing you this to brag but if I can do it so can you!!

The problem with doing this on your own and the mistakes I made was trading possess a lot of questions and there just was not enough after care to answer these. There also wasn’t support for when things go wrong. Mostly it was following their signals and make money. What happens if your guru decides to retire or stop trading? Your back at square one.
